Today I am going to try to help you establish a few home truths of who you are.
This lesson is going to be tough. We don't like to delve too deep. But often this helps you to figure out what it is that is holding you back....Let's try to work out what that is.
Do you sometimes think you could have done better?
Do you sometimes feel down in the dumps?
Are you often overwhelmed by the littlest of things?
Sometimes do you feel that something is wrong when there isn't?
What do you think is causing these feelings? Are you living in self-doubt? Doubting your abilities? Doubting your circumstances? Doubting life in general? We have all had those feelings at sometime in our lives. When we are born, we are subject to all sorts of influences. Our parents are our earliest influences, and many of their values (both good and bad) are installed in us from day one. Then as we grow older, our influence circle gets larger. We learn from many people around us - Friends, Teachers, Grandparents, Adults, Neighbours and the list goes on.
Our brain is always working and taking in everything around us. It is like a huge filing cabinet. Some files are good, some bad, some great and some terrible. So depending on your age, you have that many years of files in your brain. Let me give you an example:
Imagine an office, let's say that it is 40 years old, that is absolutely full of filing cabinets and paperwork that the draws are overflowing and the whole room is full. If you were to enter that room, your initial instinct would be to clean it up, and get rid of the paperwork that is in your way to having a orderly area. So you would go through all the draws and files, sort it all out, keep what is good and throw out what was not needed.
Your office in your brain is full. If you are living in self-doubt this would generally be because of:
Past Failures
Uncomfortable Circumstances
Bad Situations
